Description
Visit Lord and Lady Feversham's restored family home in the North York Moors National Park. Built on virgin plateau in 1713 overlooking both Norman Castle and the Rye River Valley. A girl's school for 60 years, you can now see the finely restored principal rooms, typical of a late 19th century "grand interior". Surrounded by 35 acres of landscaped "green garden" with its temples and terraces it has been described as 'the supreme masterpiece of the art of the landscape gardener', which is set in 400 acres of rolling, Arcadian parkland with National Nature Reserve and veteran trees. End a perfect day, visit the Parkland Centre Tearoom and Shop, taste the delights of homemade food and browse at your leisure the unusual Yorkshire hand made crafts available in the shop. Interpretation area, toilet facilities and free parking. Duncombe Park is also available for wedding ceremonies, receptions, product launches, corporate days and evening dinners.
